 Our Bowls

Handmade Bowls

Whether you prefer a handmade pottery bowl or one that's hand-decorated, there's a perfect choice for everyone at Oxford Empty Bowls!

Our handmade bowls come in all shapes and sizes, each one as original and distinctive as the potter who made it!

Our handmade pottery bowls come to us from:
  • Talawanda High School ceramics students
  • Miami University's Institute for Learning in Retirement students
  • Contributing local potters
  • Our annual Bowl-A-Thon, which welcomes experienced potters to a day of throwing — you bring your skills as a potter, we provide everything else!
If you're a potter who would like to contribute bowls to Oxford Empty Bowls or participate in our Bowl-A-Thon, please contact us.

Hand Decorated Bowls

You don't have to be a potter to contribute a bowl to Oxford Empty Bowls. Through a partnership with "You're Fired," Oxford's uptown pottery studio, now everyone can decorate a bowl to donate to the luncheon!

Wooden Bowls

The beauty of natural wood — oak, maple, cherry, walnut and more — when coupled with the artistry and craftsmanship of the members of the Ohio Valley Woodturners Guild leads to the most gorgeous pieces being created for and donated to Oxford Empty Bowls' annual Silent Auction!
And now,

Let's Thank Our Corporate Sponsors

When you attend Oxford Empty Bowls, you should know that every single penny, every single year, goes directly to our beneficiaries to be used toward alleviating hunger in the Oxford community; every single thing we have and do is donated by our sponsors or provided by volunteers, so there are no expenses to cover or overhead to consider.

Sponsoring Location - The Oxford Community Arts Center.

in 2014 we outgrew our original location and OCAC took on hosting our community event with so much care. We are incredibly grateful for the use of their beautiful facilities and look forward to working with their staff every year.

In Oxford, the OCAC is a hub for artists and art lovers to gather and collaborate. It provides a range of no-cost experiences, like monthly art exhibitions, “Free Movie Friday,” “2nd Friday Celebration of the Arts,” and concerts, workshops, and classes. These experiences broaden horizons, stimulate creativity, and provide a space to realize artistic inspiration.

When Butler Rural Electric Cooperative customers round up their utility bills, they help fund the Community Connection grant program, which helps support the work of groups and non-profit organizations across Butler, Montgomery, Preble and Hamilton counties.  Oxford Empty Bowls is humbled to have been selected as one of their 2022 spring grant recipients!  With our heartfelt thanks to the BRECC Board of Trustees for their kindness and generosity, our grant of $1,406 will be used to fund our 20th Anniversary Bowl Exchange, bowl painting with long-time art partners Opening Minds through Art (OMA), and our 2022 Bowl-A-Thon.
